Ireland will undergo its fourth Universal Periodic Review (UPR) on 10 November 2026. The UPR is a UN Human Rights Council process in which each UN Member State’s human rights record is reviewed by other UN Member States. As part of the process, civil society organisations and other stakeholders were invited to provide information on Ireland’s progress since its previous review in 2021.
The Irish Coalition for Business and Human Rights made a submission focusing on Ireland’s responsibilities in relation to business and human rights. The submission highlights gaps in Ireland’s approach to preventing corporate human rights abuses and ensuring access to justice and remedy for affected communities.
