The Irish Coalition for Business and Human Rights (ICBHR) is invited to Ireland’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) pre-session in Geneva on 25 August to present the situation of business and human rights in Ireland and assess Ireland’s progress in implementing previous recommendations on business and human rights.
The ICBHR’s advocacy factsheet outlines the existing frameworks in place, key gaps and challenges in ensuring corporate accountability, and the impacts on individuals and communities, alongside recommendations for States to consider as part of Ireland’s UPR. The recommendations focus on strengthening corporate responsibility for human rights and environmental impacts and ensuring effective access to justice and remedy for affected individuals and communities.
